Bond Ladder

A bond ladder is portfolio of bonds that generates cash flow, comprised of interest payments and maturities, that is synchronized such with the cash needs of the holder of the bond ladder.

Typically, a bond ladder will include bonds of various maturity dates, and the amount of bonds purchased wit different maturity dates is determined based upon the cash needs of the investor.
